Yes, my experience is with AA, and that is specifically non-financial which is a part of what makes it so great. I like the WRAP concept because it is so broad a spectrum and doesn’t have some of the associations that AA has. Someone went through a WRAP with me many years ago, but it was stand alone, rather than being as part of a support group.
My more recent AA experience tells me that it’s active peer support that truly empowers, and that is where the internet and discussion boards are so useful. I think that you are in Africa? I’m on a remote Scottish island and the organisation is in America. 3 continents. 🙂
It would be cool if we could make a go of supporting each other as a larger international group.
