Hey all!
Great topic! For myself, I’m using WRAP to deal with burn-out symptoms and I often don’t actually realise that I’m stressed. I may appear very calm from the outside, but hold in a lot of tension in my body that I’m unaware of when I’m too much focussed on external things. And then all of a sudden my body says “STOP” to all the tension and doesn’t do anything anymore.
Things that are very helpful for me to deal with stress are things like meditation, doing yoga, play music… but I found out that if I’m living in a quite high energy pace, this level of slowing down is too far on the other end and not realistic for me to implement. I just won’t do it/can’t sit still or focus.
Something that helps me to slow down and ground is cleaning/decluttering my space. I will still be moving around and be focussed on external things around me but it helps me to move inward and slow down. I find that especially something like doing the dishes – putting my hands in warm water- helps me to slow down, find more peace of mind. Also taking a shower helps me to release tension and litteraly wash it off my body. Only after doing these things, I’d feel more at ease to implement tools that require more focus.
