MemberI really don’t like writing resumes.
The hardest part is trying to add numbers to show how well I did in past jobs—especially since I used to be a therapist and now work as a leadership coach. It’s not easy to measure success in those roles.
But luckily, ChatGPT can help!
Jokes aside, here’s a great prompt you can use to get ideas for adding numbers and results to your resume:
“You are a resume expert with over 20 years of experience.
I’m writing a bullet point for an experience on my resume but I don’t know how my success was measured. I will describe my responsibilities and your task is to list 5 relevant metrics that I can include to quantify the impact of my work. Here’s what I did: [insert your job description here]”
Here’s an example using that prompt:
Here’s what I did: I coached hundreds of clients on leadership skills and work-life balance.
And here’s what ChatGPT gave me in response:
Number of Clients Coached: “Coached over 200 clients on leadership development and work-life balance.”
Client Improvement Rate: “Achieved a 90% improvement rate in leadership skills based on assessments.”
Work-Life Balance Enhancement: “Improved work-life balance for 85% of clients, boosting job satisfaction.”
Client Feedback and Satisfaction: “Received 95% satisfaction rate with positive client feedback.”
Retention and Referrals: “Kept 75% of clients for follow-up sessions and got a 60% referral rate.”
