    Hi Sarah,

I had thought that – inappropriate sharing and the like.

I get the format of these discussion boards a bit confused. I want to connect with people so we can provide mutual support to each other (which includes sharing skills and tools etc) so pictures are ok.

But that isn’t really the idea? It’s more ‘sharing skills and tools’ without sharing personal info, or giving actual ‘in the day’ support to each other (so no pictures required)

    Is that right? Lol.

The idea is that we set up our own local peer support groups using the structures and tools provided by WRAP?

That’s a bit of a problem for me cos i haven’t been able to access the training or the books. Also, for me online support networks work best just now due to location and time etc.

I find it a bit frustrating, but i understand that running that sort of online support network takes a lot of time – due to issues like inappropriate sharing etc. 🙂 back to the beginning of the note – hahaha.

Hi Michelle, It sounds like things have been really challenging for you recently. I love learning, i find it exciting, stimulating, etc.

I’m not good on fiction, and i am a very slow reader, but the other year i bought this book:

Jinpa, Thupten. A Fearless Heart: Why Compassion is the Key to Greater Wellbeing

There’s a good mix of evidence based information and practical exercises.

    Stay warm. xxx

    Hi Rhiannon,

I will look into that book you share with me. I always is looking for something different that won’t put me to sleep as I read it.. LOL!

It snowed again here Not sure if it will ever stop snowing. But will keep warm just lost power recently and not sure how that happen. Power companies never say why the power goes out, but I think it’s because the snow is heavy on the power lines..

Where I live they don’t blow very well here at my apartment complex for my walker to move around through the snow..

It’s okay about the reading I’m also slow because I don’t do well understanding what I am reading sometimes.
Thank you for letting me share and I love learning new things!

That’s so cool, Michelle- I love all those tools! Sounds like you’ve found several things that speak to your heart. I just started reading Verity by Colleen Hoover. Not sure it’ll live up to all the fantastic hype, but I’ve never read a dark mystery before, so I’m trying new. 🙂 Wishing you lots of light and peace.

    Hi Michelle,
I’m feeling terrible guilty. I thought that i’d replied to your message from March, i only realised that i hadn’t when i saw Courtney’s reply in my email box this morning.

I’m wondering how the weather is with you now? We are having an unusually long cold spell, but nothing like what you describe. We don’t really get much snow, but wind chill makes things feel very bitter.

My reading has stalled a bit, but i’ve discovered audio books though, and a podcast app called podbean that has some interesting stuff.

Hi Courtney, what is a keymaster? 🙂 I like your ‘light and peace’ message. It’s a really nice ending to a note.

Holding you both in the light,

    Rhiannon

Good morning! I am still here haven’t been on in while. It’s been hot here in New York but hopefully today will be a good day.
I haven’t been on here since winter time. So the only time I come here is when I get an e-mail.

So how is everyone been doing?

When I am stressed lately I do some kinda of a craft or take a nap. I’ve been going to my local YMCA to workout. My 4 yr old cat keeps me company and calm. He is big and his name is BostonMaine after my favorite teams in Boston and where I am from Maine. He is a 30lb short hair and he is all black. Boston is very smart and sometimes act like a dog. Which is very funny. Boston greets me at the door and lays down when you ask him too. He is my big baby and thats how I guess I treated him since I got him at 6 weeks old. He is the best thing that came in my life and the only man in my life that don’t cause me any stress.

What do you all do to help manage your stressful day?
Thank you for letting me share!

I’m still here! Having a challenging summer, but using my WRAP to keep myself doing something every day that improves my wellness. Some days it is REALLY hard to get motivated. What do all of you do on those days, when you just want to stay in bed and hide from the world?

What is your “go to” motivator to do one of your daily actions?

I stop and focus on my breathing I don’t talk for a few minutes and I choose my words when I do speak depends on the stressful situation . I focus on me and try not to call anyone!

Great suggestions, Michelle! I agree that avoiding calling and texting people when you are stressed (unless they are a support) can be dangerous. Sometimes we say things we can’t take back, or overreact to situations, when stressed.

I try to give myself some alone time to walk, do deep breathing, listen to calming music, etc., before interacting with others. Helps calm down my nervous system and gets me out of fight, flight, or freeze mode.

    Hi everyone,

I am brand new to WRAP, and I recently went through a crisis that has opened my eyes to my past trauma and how it has affected me in many overs throughout my life. But first, I want to say that I’m not here to just talk about myself! I’ve been reading through all the posts and comments here as I attempt to relate in any way to your stories. I know for me it’s been so difficult to share anything because it’s scary to even think about, let alone share. However, as I am now beginning my process of recovery, I am finding that sharing with this community will be of a great help, and I hope I can be of help to all of you as well.

Welcome Grant! The great thing about WRAP and healing is that you don’t have to share anything you don’t want to share, or anything at all. It’s about you finding what works to keep you well and having a network of supporters. It is possible to heal from all types of past trauma, and I applaud you for having the courage to start addressing it and moving forward. Welcome to WRAP!

Thank you, Sarah. I think my goal is to find tools to deal with BPD and also come to terms with things I’ve done in my past, in particular cheating on my girlfriend with other men, which I regret but haven’t been able to control, as well as having issues with alcohol and MDMA. I would love to hear if anyone has any similar experiences and what they did to cope..

Grant, I don’t have the same experience, but I believe owning up to past mistakes, making amends, and truly working to change behavior is the foundation–which it sounds like you are doing. Sending you support!
