My name is Hubert Brooks, but I go by Tojo B. I’m a survivor, advocate, and champion of wellness and recovery.
In the face of adversity, I found the strength to overcome two daunting diagnoses: stage 3 prostate cancer and opioid addiction. It was a dark and challenging time for me, but instead of surrendering to the grip of these challenges, I chose to surrender to the power of recovery and wellness.
With a newfound commitment to self-care and a willingness to ask for help, I embarked on a transformation journey. Through WRAP, and the help of outside programs that empower individuals to take control of their mental and physical well-being, I discovered a framework for living a healthier, more balanced life.
As I progressed on this journey, it became clear that one of the most crucial elements of recovery was the support of others. Recognizing that no one can overcome adversity alone, I began to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations, eager to share the message of hope and recovery.
Today, I am a passionate advocate for wellness and recovery, using my lived experience to inspire and educate others. Through collaborations with various organizations, I work to deliver the message of hope and empowerment to those struggling with addiction, mental health issues, and chronic illness. By sharing my story, I aim to show others that they too can break free from the cycle of suffering and begin to live a life of purpose and vitality.
With a WRAP in place, I am committed to spreading the word about the importance of self-care, mutual support, and personal responsibility.
By shining a light on the power of recovery, I inspire others to take control of their well-being and to seek help when needed.
As a champion of wellness and recovery, I truly aspire to be a beacon of hope for those who may feel lost or are struggling.
With a heart full of compassion and a spirit of resilience, I’m dedicated to helping others find their path to wellness and recovery.
