Description

The Workbook for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is a full-color, 72-page workbook. It is a larger-sized, updated version of WRAP Workbook for People with Developmental Distinctions (2014). The workbook is designed to support young adults and adults who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) and give them voice and choice in their lives and wellness path. The language is tailored to this audience. It includes:

  • More expansive lists of real-life examples for each section, shared by people with I/DD who are using WRAP in their lives.
  • A full-color workbook with photos and illustrations.
  • Sections for each of WRAP’s five Key Concepts.
  • Notes for Facilitators and caregivers for people with I/DD who use support services.
  • An introduction from Lesley Corey, WRAP ALF and COO of Step By Step, Inc. (SBS), a nonprofit devoted to providing community support services across Pennsylvania with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, mental health disorders, and/ or substance use disorders. SBS incorporates WRAP into its services, offering WRAP to both consumers and staff.

Who This Item Is For

If you are a young adult or adult with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD), or someone who supports such a person. WRAP Workbook for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is designed to be an accessible, useful tool that individuals with IDD can use to discover what the WRAP Key Concepts mean to them (Hope, Personal Responsibility, Education, Self-Advocacy, and Support), learn more about themselves and what helps them feel well or unwell, find Wellness Tools that work for them, and have true voice and choice in their lives, care, treatments, and support. WRAP is used by people in all kinds of circumstances and by health care and mental health systems all over the world. Agencies and organizations often purchase this book for distribution to people working with care providers, in supportive residential care or day centers, or for those working with people who have IDD.
